What You Should Know About SCUBA Diving
✏️ I developed this course as a personal goal to fill the knowledge gap of vital, accurate information amongst potential SCUBA divers, people who are interested in diving but have not made a definitive decision to pursue a SCUBA Diving Certificate yet due to continued questions and concerns. This course is also applicable to beginner divers who have minimal experience using their certifying program's knowledge and skills in real SCUBA diving experiences.
NOTE: This course is NOT meant to replace official diving instruction. It is meant to provide basic and important information for those seeking to potentially enroll in SCUBA certification classes.
✏️ Observation of Knowledge Gap
I began to notice this potential knowledge gap based on comments in SCUBA diving forums, social media posts, video-sharing platforms, and even within the diving habits of non-certified (and some certified) SCUBA diving practitioners. There seemed to be an alarmingly large number of comments that contained incorrect information regarding industry standard, safe SCUBA-diving practice and knowledge.
✏️ Data Collection and Analysis
In my data analysis, I followed 5 different SCUBA-based accounts each on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube (all with followings between 10,000 to 500,000 people). I tracked every new post each day for 28 days on all of the above mentioned accounts, which equaled between 1 to ten posts a day for an average of 5.27 posts a day. I logged every occurrence of a comment that contained inaccurate information. The rate of posts containing inaccurate (and potentially dangerous) information was, on average, 4.43 comments per every 10 posts. An almost 50% error rate of potentially dangerous information being consume by people with an interest in SCUBA diving is quite alarming.
✏️ Design, Development, and Revisions
Upon completion of the first iteration of this course (and prior to the final iteration/project), I made revisions based on several submissions and pilot testing groups:
FEEDBACK: IDOL courses Academy Community submission
FEEDBACK: IDOL courses Academy Coach submission
PILOT TESTING: Experienced SME (advanced SCUBA divers) beta testing
PILOT TESTING: (1) Novice SCUBA divers and (2) interested, non-SCUBA divers

✏️ In an effort to utilize Articulate Rise to its full creative potential, I developed this 'Encyclopedia of SCUBA Terms'.
✏️ This course is a companion piece to the course listed above, 'What you should know about SCUBA diving'. This Encyclopedia of SCUBA Terms is a reference tool, both complementing the content in and providing an alternate source of information for the above course.
✏️ Meant to be an immersive experience, learners will find definitions, images, videos, interactivity, and appropriate and relevant links to outside sources.

Genially
how to write a professional email
✏️ Though it does not have quite the same capabilities of Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate, Genially is an amazing resource in Instructional Design and eLearning.
✏️ 'How to Write a Professional Email' is a course in how to appropriately and professionally draft several types of emails commonly used in the workplace environment.
✏️ This was a personal project of which I felt passionate. The need for proper training or professional correspondence has been evident in all my former positions; it can also be witness on professional networking sites such as LinkedIn.
✏️ During the development of this course, great care was given to the following:
Encourages Intrinsic Motivation by detailing the value and real-life applications of properly constructed professional emails.
Similar elements of information are 'chunked' to maximize learning.
Extraneous elements are avoided to eliminate cognitive overload.
Only elements necessary to support Germane cognitive load are utilized to optimize retention and develop the learner's knowledge base.
